Joshua Evan Crane has worked on lead roles such as Jesus from Jesus Christ superstar (Andrew - Lloyd Webber’s Gethsemane and Last Supper), George from Steven Soundheims Sunday In The Park With George (Move On), Shrek from Shrek: The Musical (I Think I Got You Beat), and Erik from Andrew - Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera and its sequel Love Never Dies (Music of the Night and Til I Hear You Sing). He has also gladly performed in ensembles, working in performances such as George Gershwin’s They All Laughed, and performed and Choreographed AMDA’s version of Rent’s La Vie Boheme.
At the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City, Joshua trained in the dance styles of Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and Theatrical Dance, and was given Music Theory, acting, and both contemporary and Golden Age styled Musical acting styles. He has been performing in Community Theatre’s since the age of six, and has trained with Different dancers and worked alongside Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri’s Steps Dance Studio, as well as workshopped with Steps On Broadway’s Daniel Gold, and trained under known Choreographers such as Casey Colgan, Nic Thompson, and George Nieves.
Although he has been known as the Angel of suspenseful vocals, being in more independent lead roles; he has captured some other memorable characters to portray, such Grimsby in Camdenton High School’s adaptation of The Little Mermaid and Race in Camdenton High Schools’ Newsies. He has also worked with The Lake Of The Ozarks Radio - Active Theatre group, performing in Live Radio Theatre.
Since the time he started to dream of being on stage at six years old, Joshua Evan Crane had always felt a satisfaction to be in the lives of those whose stories need to be told, and with that came creativity and a passion to learn. He is excited now, in this stage of his life, to learn and grow with the people around him.
